Near the end of Daniel 12 are several time prophecies which plainly refer to the end of
the world. They read as follows:
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
or, as a more modern version reads:
11 "The daily sacrifice will be stopped. Then, after 1,290 days from that time, the destroying terror will be set up.
12 Those who wait for the end of the 1,335 days will be happy.
There will be an event which is a taking away of the "daily":
DAILY TAKEN AWAY
Then, 1290 days later, the abomination of desolation will be set up:
ABOMINATION SET UP
DAILY TAKEN AWAY >---------- 1290 DAYS -----> ABOMINATION SET UP
Then, 45 days later, (1335 minus 1290) Jesus will return, for this is what will make the righteous happy.
The fulfillments of the above Scriptures will be given to the elect at the time of the end when it may be helpful for them to know these things. Just as angels revealed to humble shepherds the time and place of Jesus' first coming ("unto you this day is born to you in the city of David..."), so angels will reveal to humble shepherds the time and events associated with His return...
